Jazz Funk / Hip Hop / Jazz / Technique (Kids & Adults)
Amber Amrhein is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Amber began her dance training as a young child in the styles of ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, tap, drill team, cheer, and musical theater. She was awarded a full scholarship in 2013 from the Athletic Garage Dance Center where she trained under top industry choreographers in styles such as ballet, jazz, hip hop, jazz funk, salsa, contemporary lyrical, and modern. Shortly after completing the scholarship program, Amber joined FIASCO Dance Crew, a hip hop crew with whom she performed with in various dance shows, competitions, and charity events. Amber has continued her dance training and education at Glendale Community College. She is currently finishing her AS in Dance Teaching.
Some of Amber's performance credits include LA Fashion Week 2016, a Doritos commercial spot, a Container Store commercial spot, award-winning short film “Confrontation,” as well as various concept videos, theater productions, and dance shows. She has also worked for international recording artists Martin Nievera and Lani Misalucha.
Amber teaches dance to children and adults at various studios, schools, and summer camps. She also regularly showcases her choreography in various dance shows throughout Los Angeles. Amber’s goal is to share her passion and love for dance with as many as she can. She hopes to inspire others to discover their own passion for dance and experience all that it has to offer.
Kids Hip Hop / Kids Jazz / Kids Technique
Tony graduated from John Burroughs High School in Burbank, CA in 2012 where he began coaching the dance team, contributing to three 1st place national titles and judges choice award for choreography. He was awarded a full scholarship at Athletic Garage Dance Center and trained under industry-experienced choreographers in various styles: contemporary, jazz, jazz funk, hip hop, ballet, theatre, modern, salsa, and samba. Tony continues to work in Los Angeles as a dancer and has various experience in film and stage. He has worked with music artists such as X Factor Winners Alex & Sierra, Young The Giant, Caught A Ghost, Valentino Khan, Dimitri Vegas, Zaza, Koda Corvette, and international singers and artists Kim Chu, Xian Lim, Chokoleit, Pokwang, Pooh, and K Brosas. He has also traveled and performed in a tour through Russia with Jonia McClenney's Raiz Brazil Dance Company. Other stage and film credits include numerous Choreographer’s Carnival performances, LA Fashion Week 2016, Star Magic, Teatro Pilipino USA's opera 'Noli Me Tangere', RAW natural born artists, Hollywood Fringe. and a commercial for The Squad Clothing Co. He is the founder and director of The Riot Dance Troupe, a youth performance company in Pasadena. Tony's passion for dance is as much teaching as it is performing and he continues to live his dream of sharing it with others to evoke the same inspiration that started his love for dance.
Hip Hop (Kids & Adults)
Born and raised in Hawai'i, Aukai Cain is a hip hop choreographer based in Los Angeles. He is currently the Artistic Director/Choreographer for indie artist “Peyton” of The Famous Co. based out of London, and the choreographer for the boy band "New District" with ISINA Records. He has danced for countless choreographers with credits such as Janet Jackson, Mario, Dr. Dre, and Ying Yang Twins to name a few, as well as choreographed and/or danced for numerous artists including Jessica Simpson, New Miami Sound Machine, Clay Aiken, Fundamental (FDM), Terry Crews (from "Everybody Hates Chris," and the "Family Crews"), and various independent artists. Aukai currently works with multi Grammy winning Platinum producer Drew Lane of Mary J. Blige, Tony Braxton, and Hannah Montana. Aukai has choreographed 5 MTV Asia concerts for Blue Oceans Productions for 14 different chart-topping European artists and for GMA Networks Super Stars Kapuso 2017 Tour with Alden Richards, Tom Rodriquez, Lovi Poe, and Betong Sumaya. He has choreographed for the new hit TV series, “Cobra Kai,” on YouTube red and various movies with Red Thorn Productions, working closely with directors and producers of the following films: "Salt," "Murder by Numbers," "Angels in America," and the HBO films "Dreaming American" and "Before Breakfast." Aukai has appeared on the FOX Networks "Good Morning Show," ABC's "Good Morning America," UPN, BET, VH1, MTV, the Network GMA7 in the Philippines, and ABS/CBN. Aukai is very committed to community service and is proud to be a Director and Advisory Board member of the non-profit organization, "FOSTERING DREAMS PROJECT," which allows him to share his art and talent to inspire and mentor foster, homeless and at-risk youth. Aukai has also performed in the off Broadway musicals, "Reefer Madness" and "BARE," in which he is featured on the soundtracks as a singer.
Ballet / Jazz / Contemporary / Technique
Jesus is originally from Barcelona, Spain. He started dancing at the age of 14 and is a trained ballet and contemporary dancer. Upon winning several national dance competition awards, as a ballet and contemporary soloist, he went on to train in jazz and hip hop. After performing with Rihanna and Shakira at the VMA's in Madrid, he knew that he wanted to move to Los Angeles to further pursue his dream as a professional dancer.
Currently, Jesus is focusing on furthering his dance and fitness career by continuously taking dance classes and killing CrossFit workouts on top of his daily yoga and running routines.
Jesus has appread in many music videos choreographed by Ryan Heffington and Nina MacNeely including: Banks “Trainwreck,” Sia “Big Girls Cry,” Chromeo “Old 45’s,” Sonns “On my mind,” Pharrell Williams “Happy,” Demi Lovato “Neon Lights,” Kaskade “Atmosphere,” and Hayley Kiyoko “A Belle to Remember.”
Jesus has also performed with Rihanna and Shakira at various VMA awards.
Jazz Funk / Kids Hip Hop / Kids Jazz
Estéfano was raised in Miami, Florida and has trained in the styles of Jazz, Jazz Funk, Hip Hop, Modern, Lyrical, Salsa, Afro, Samba and more. Originally, Estéfano was awarded a dance scholarship to The Athletic Garage, and because of his accomplishments and hard work ethic, he was granted an extension at the end of the program. Since then, Estéfano has taught Jazz Funk, Dirty Funkin’ Dancing, and Beginning Hip Hop, Kids Hip Hop, and Jazz for Kids. He is a certified ZUMBA instructor, which he teaches at Athletic Garage.
Estéfano has danced for NBC’s “Chuck”, danced and acted in “Understudy” a film by Oscar nominated Christina Malavenda, starring Jeanine Mason winner of So You Think You Can Dance, has toured with The Star Magic World Concert Tour from the Phillipines several times, and done many commercial stage shows in Los Angeles. Estefano has also danced with Raiz Brazil Dance Co, The Pin-Down Girls (was the male lead in their Zingdeed dance film) and currently dances with XPOSE Dance Theatre Co, and more. He will be heading to the Phillipines for 3 weeks to dance for BENCH, the GAP equivalent and leading clothing company in the country.
Salsa / Salsa Funk / Cha-Cha / Latin
Desi Jevon was born in northern California, raised in Hawaii, then moved to New York City to follow his dream to perform full time, but now resides in Los Angeles. Although he has training in all areas of dance, his true passion is salsa. He has been very fortunate to travel the world with various shows and artists including dancing and touring with Gloria Estefan Rewrapped Tour, Toni Braxton's Revealed Show, Alicia Keys, Selena Gomez, Prince Royce, Brian Setzer Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl, Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance commercial campaign, World of Dance Super Bowl commercial, Kids and Teen Choice Awards, Wizards of Waverly Place, Shake it Up, Victorious, Castle, Saturday Night Live, played leads in West Side Story, La Vida, nominated for Best Featured Actor in A Chorus Line, and won the international salsa championships on Univision.
As a choreographer, he is a 3-time World Choreography Award nominee... and has choreographed for Celebrity Big Brother, Mi Sueños es Bailar (Spanish Dancing with the Stars), The Ellen Show (Van Halen), The Jimmy Kimmel Show (Van Halen), Celebrity Cruises (Turner Classic Movies), Tengo Talento Mucho Talento, MGM Casinos and Bellagio Casino's New Years Eve Shows, Best of Ballroom Tour, USA tv's The Moment, High Flyer Scooters commercial campaign (Hoverboards), VH-1's Dating Naked (Assoc.), Bravo's Step it up and Dance (Assoc.), Vampire Diaries (Asst.), Switched at Birth (Asst.), and Spice Girls Reunion Tour (Asst.)
Jonia has performed in many major Samba groups in the Los Angeles area for great jobs such as dancing with “Girls from Ipanema” for the legend, Aretha Franklin, in her concerts in the Hollywood Bowl, Fox Theater in Detroit, Energy Theater in Detroit, and Ceasar's Palace in Las Vegas. She also danced for “Extravadancers,” performing with them for amazing artists like Sergio Mendes Concerts at the Hollywood Bowl and “Seu Jorge” and “Bebel Gilberto” at the Hollywood Bowl. Her love and respect for Dance and the Performing Arts has transferred to her love for Samba and other Brazilian Dances/ Art Forms, which led her to start her own dance company, Raiz Brazil Dance Company. In February of 2008, her dance company had their debut in the Sambala Carnival Ball. For the past 5 years, Jonia has also been studying the Brazilian ballroom dance, “Samba de Gafieira,” which she has performed for the past 2 years. She always loved this partnering style and it is what inspired her to go back to Brazil to continue to study and learn as much as she can about it. Jonia also has won some titles and Samba competitions in Los Angeles. In 2001 she won 2nd Princess of the Drums for “Mila Samba School,” and in 2008 she won the Samba competition for the “Queen of the Drums” (“Rainha da Bateria”) of Sambala Samba School. She kept this title for 4 years, and was honored to represent Sambala as the “Queen of the Drums.” Recently, in March of 2014, she won the contest for “Samba Queen of the San Diego Brazil Carnival 2014”, and was elected the ”Santa Barbara Carnival Queen 2014.” In 2015, Jonia was honored for being chosen to be the “Hollywood Carnival Queen 2015” by the Los Angeles Culture Festival Organization. The treasure she gained from being Queen was bringing the joy and soul of Carnival not only from Brazil, but from the 40 different countries represented in the parade on Hollywood Blvd in June 2015. Jonia has been teaching Samba and Brazilian Dances for over 10 years.
JERMAINE MCGHEE Ballet / Jazz / Jazz Funk / Technique
Jermaine McGhee embodies the true essence of a versatile and charismatic dancer. From Charlotte, North Carolina, McGhee started this training through the North Carolina Dance Theatre’s Education and Arts enrichment program. In his adolescent years, he auditioned for and attended the Northwest School of Visual and Performing Arts, as well as competed with a national award-winning dance team at BB Dance Productions. He continued his training at the Piedmont Dance Conservatory, where he was under scholarship/fellowship. He then moved to New York to train as a certificate program student at the Ailey School, under the direction of Troy Powell. McGhee’s passion and commitment to excellence and education in dance has also afforded him opportunities to choreograph and teach domestically and abroad. His first opportunity to teach came at the age of 19, when he returned to his old studio, BB Dance Productions, where he goes annually to set pieces. In 2005, McGhee moved to Los Angeles. For the first year, he was part of the Edge Performing Arts Center scholarship ensemble. Since he’s been in LA, he has trained and worked with many notable choreographers such as Marguerite Derricks, Tovaris Wilson, Scott Hilsop, and more. He has appeared in featured films, including “FAME” and “Dance Flick,” on television in “Cold Case,” numerous awards programs, DISNEY projects, and other showcase appearances.
Yuki Shundo is originally from Japan. At the young age of 19, she moved to Los Angeles. Yuki has worked with celebrity stars such as Justin Bieber, Sean Kingston, and RAY J, amongst others. She has appeared on BET’s “106 & Park” TV show, various live shows, and many more. She has also choreographed for Nintendo, Sanrio, 944 Magazine, and many other brands, artists, and performance shows all over the world. Yuki has appeared on commercials in Japan and works as a choreographer for various Japanese commercials, singing groups, and companies such as Dotour Coffee / Water Company Melodian. Yuki is a working instructor that travels to teach workshops in many countries.
Joshua (Josh) Stevens is a multi-talented performing artist and instructor with an amazing unique style in Hip Hop Choreography. Born in Brooklyn NY, and raised in the suburb of Minneapolis, Josh moved to Los Angeles in 2012 where he currently resides. At age twelve, he began performing and teaching dance professionally with his mother’s company, Universal Dance Destiny (UDD). Josh specializes in Popping, Waving, Tutting, Locking and Breaking to Contortion, Bone-Breaking, and Hip Hop. As a member of UDD, Josh choreographed and performed regularly at prestigious venues and for many well-known clients such as the Minnesota Timberwolves, Best Buy Corp, Macys, and nurmous festivals to name a few. Josh attended Saint Paul Conservatory of Performing Arts (SPCPA) as a young teenager where his creative abilities grew when he received training in Acting, Modern, Ballet, & Jazz Dance. He was featured as one of the dancers for Capstone Publishing Hip Hop book series, demonstrating popular Hip Hop and Breaking moves. These books can be found at local libraries and bookstores worldwide. He was selected to be on the covers of volume 1 and 4. At age sixteen, Joshua created ‘Obtuse Crew’ consisting of twelve to fifteen diverse, energetic, talented teens and young adults. The crew’s popularity landed them gigs immediately. These recognitions led Josh to be the first teen recipient of the Sage Awards 2012 for ‘Best Ensemble’ category. Teaching, Choreographing and Performing with professional dance companies developed Joshua’s experience to where it has grown today. Some highlights include America’s Got Talent Commercial, Minnesota Black Music Awards, Ms. Universe California 3rd Annual Pageant, Lead Choreographer for national Chinese Tour “American Sister”. Also has dance back up & featured in music videos with recording artists such as Tanshie, Cold war kid, Prince, Mila J, Che’Nell &, KeKe Palmer. Josh’s teaching credits include: International Dance Academy, asst. at NRG Dance Convention, Turning Point Dance Studio, Ricky Palimino’s Poetry in Motion Studio, Boys and Girls Club, Universal Dance Destiny, IDA Hollywood, Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio & West Coast Dance Theatre.
